You

You were always so sweet, and you were always so kind to me
You were always so attentive, and you were always so cheerful

and when that thing happened, I was there for you, being your "shoulder to cry on"

had I known this would break my heart, I would have never asked you what was going on
had I known this would depress me, I would have never meddled in your business

but I did not know, I thought I was only getting closer to you

closer, and closer, and you knew.

you knew I had fallen I love with you
but you kept it a secret, feeling that it would ruin our friendship

had I known being your "shoulder to cry on" would result in this, I would have never gotten close to you

and when I confronted you, your words broke my heart
like you drove a knife into the centre of my heart.

you acted like it was fine for you
and you walked away, not confronting what was in front of you

a mangled piece of soul that was incomplete, a soul that was on the verge of breaking

a soul that had lost the will to live and function

a soul that had lost its heart, a soul that will lose its sanity

But as a friend has said, sadness has to be confronted
sadness will not prevail, sadness will not take my mind
sadness will not take my soul, sadness will not make me insane

Alas, but sadness has taken something away from me.

You.

The Garuda Indonesia Experience

On my trip to Bali, on 22 of October was a memorable one, because i got to experience the real
"GA Experience". Check-In was a bit troublesome because the name on the Tickets didn't match, but we (Father) were happy to get a seat (eventually). It seems that the Experience starts at the Check-In counter, where you are greeted with a smile and afterwards a hand gesture which is the combination of your palms, firmly together directed upwards in front of your chest. After Check-In, we went to the Citibank Lounge to enjoy some refreshments, promptly at 1615, the announcement came and we went to gate F3. To my surprise and enjoyment, the aircraft was an Airbus A330-341 PK-GPF. A minute in the waiting gate, the boarding process began, with me and my father being the first ones on the Aircraft, we were greeted with a smile and a sense of care from the FA's. Along the way, FA's were welcoming us with smiles and " Selamat Datang Pak/Bu". Of course we were delighted that the FA's were smiling and professional also.

Our seats were 28A and B, which lies behind the wing and are emergency exit seats. We were seated, and Aisha, the FA sitting in front of us explained to us the procedures for emergencies in water or ground. After 20+ minutes after the boarding time, we pushed back and taxied to Runway 7L. There was no traffic, and so we took of immediately and turned left to the general direction of Bali.

Aisha engaged in small talk along the way, and was really nice. After 30 Minutes, the seatbelt sign was turned off and the meal was being given. The meal was Rice, beef curry and spinach.. it was tasty... after that, i closed my eyes, and 30 minutes after, i could see the lights of Bali.

The Landing was great, and the pilots did not hesitate to engage the Reverse Thrusters. and we stopped in the International Terminal and disembarked.

It really was an example of Garuda Indonesia Experience...

Indonesia 64 Years, it's Avation ?

Tommorow will mark the day the country turns into 64 years of Independence from the Dutch. But, is it aviation still not good ? Let us review some aspects, which are, Airline Competitiveness, Airline Diversity, Safety Factors, and the Regulating board, which is the KNKT or the Komite Nasional Kecelakaan Transportasi. Now, airline competitiveness. It is a word that used to not exsist in Indonesia; because of the monopoly of the State-Run Airline. But since massive transformations, now there are a lot of carriers, and all of them are competing for passangers, which will open up transparancies in the Indonesian Airline and also motivate airlines to market their product effectively and efficiently. Second, Airline Diversity. The airlines Vision and Mission constitute this part, with almost all of the private Airline companies either a Chartered based airline, or a Low Cost Carrier, and the State owned airline, is a Full Service one. Which makes monopoly of the market impossible. Also, the third point, Safety Factors. GMF Aero-Asia is a Maintenance faclility. A lot of the airlines, cannot afford their own maintenance facilities, therefore GMF AA is contracted on a yearly basis to provide checks on all of the Aircraft.

Finally, the regulations board, although came with a lot of critisisms for mishandling all of the accidents and not regulating properly, the DGAC is now on the right track for a safer Indonesia. With the new regulations of the UU Penerbangan or Aviation Law in effect, offenders will pay serious sanctions and may face Operators Licence revoked.

Lets hope that Indonesia, can be a model for other ASEAN countries.

Indonesia's Airline Safety

In recent years surrounding the Adam Air 574 Incident, many has questioned about the Indonesian airlines' safety record and the airlines operators to ensure the safety or their fleet. After the Adam incident, the European Union or EU, had put all Indonesian Airlines to their black list, not permitting us to fly anywhere near or on their airspace. Their reasoning is simple and is supported by facts. First of all, the incidents were occuring in all branches of Aviation. Those will be Full Service Carriers, Garuda Indonesia and Low Cost Carriers, Lion Air, Adam Air. Almost all of these incidents will include the following; either an Pilot Error, or skidding along the runway, and their undercarriages broken.

The pilot error scenario can be seen in Garuda Indonesia flight 200, where the captain had ignored the Co-Pilot and the numerous warnings given by the Airplane that the speed was too fast, and that the flaps lowered were not sufficient for landing. It skidded and was broken in half, many were Indonesians, and some were Australians.

The skidding part, is from Lion Air, the aircraft is a Brand New Boeing 737-900ER. Nevertheless, it was still doomed. Many can cause the aircraft to skid, either high speed whilst landing/rolling, or severe weather and crosswinds, a higher percentage if accompanied with thunderstorms.

The Adam Incident, really put Indonesia on the world map for ( Not a Good Thing ), and now, the Indonesian Government is trying it's best to better supervise, regulate and punish rowdy airlines who dont follow policies. 2 years on, the transformation has been exciting and a rewarding one at that. Now, 4 airlines can go to the European Union, and hopefully, all Indonesian Carriers can be awarded that luxury.

Garuda Indonesia new Livery

Hello all of Garuda Indonesia's fans and supporters, today i will be blogging about Garuda Indonesia's new livery, which has been set last month. I think that the concept of the "rebranding" is very nice, and is meant to promote Garuda Indonesia, amongst the top 5 airlines currently ranked 5 stars by Skytrax. Those Carriers are :

a. Cathay Pacific
b. Malaysia Airlines
c. Singapore Airlines
d. British Airways
e. Thai Airways

This new livery, and the new logo, and the changing of the old Garuda Uniforms to kebaya, is needed for competing in the Global Market. Also, with the addition of 50 New Boeing 737-800 NG and the addition of at least 4 A330-200 and 10 Boeing 777-300ER it is hoped that Garuda Indonesia can have it's moments of glory and be recognized as a 5 star airline or better yet, awarded the title " Best Airline in Asia". Surely these would catapult Indonesia and it's aviation Industry as a market leader and a benchmark for other Airlines.

With improved PTV and AVOD in all classes in the new A330-200 and 737-800, your flight, will be a resting place, also as an entertainment suite, where movies and music programmes, keep you wanting for more. And make a long-haul flight to Amsterdam or Doha, a piece of cake.

In line with it's corporate Rebranding, Garuda Indonesia is also looking forward to flying to Amsterdam and other European Countries, where it has regained it's trust, and has been written off it's black list. And, the first flight to Amsterdam ( via Dubai ) will start commencing in January of 2010.

Garuda Indonesia is now " The Airline of Indonesia "
